How Do I Assign A Favorite Web Address to WebWheel?

WebWheel comes pre-configured with five web addresses. These web pages give you an overview of possible addresses which you may wish to assign to your WebWheel. However, it is easy to change assignments to your own choice of web addresses.

    1. Open your web browser, then navigate to the desired web address.
    2. Launch WebWheel by pressing the assigned WebWheel button.
    3. Rolling the device wheel or moving the mouse, select the section of the WebWheel where the web address is to be placed.
    4. To assign the web address, press and hold the CTRL key while clicking the assigned WebWheel button.
    5. In the dialog box that displays, enter a name for the web address, then click the assigned WebWheel button.

Tip: Since the Back function is always the starting point when bringing up the WebWheel, a double-click on the wheel-button executes the Back function.

Note: The WebWheel browser command icons (Back, Stop, Reload, Bookmarks/Favorites) will appear with a small red "X" when you are not in your web browser.

WebWheel requires Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the main benefit of using the WebWheel?
A: The iTouch WebWheel allows you to navigate the internet with minimal mouse movement and button clicks.

Q: Which mouse products include the WebWheel feature?
A: Cordless MouseMan Wheel, Cordless Wheel Mouse, MouseMan Wheel USB, USB WheelMouse, TrackMan Marble FX, and TrackMan Marble Wheel.

Q: Can you get the WebWheel without buying a mouse?
A: Yes, the software will be available on the Logitech website, but the WebWheel will only work on select Logitech devices.

Q: How do I exit the WebWheel if it has been brought up by accident?
A: Depress and release the Esc key.

Q: Why is my cursor "trapped" by the WebWheel?
A: Once the WebWheel is activated, only functions within it can be executed. Until this function has been chosen and executed, or you exit the WebWheel, the cursor is "trapped". To deactivate the WebWheel, depress and release the Esc key.

Q: I'm using the AOL browser. How can I assign a favorite web address to the WebWheel?
A: When programming the WebWheel within the AOL browser, using the CTRL-CLICK function on one of the user-assignable items of the WebWheel may not automatically retrieve the desired URL. To work around this issue, you will need to manually type in the desired URL and its designated name in the edit boxes provided (e.g. Logitech, http://www.logitech.com). By default, both edit boxes will contain the current assignment.

Q: What does the following message mean: "The WEBCOLCT.EXE file is linked to missing export OLEAUT32.DLL:227"?
A: This error message may appear near the end of the MouseWare installation on a Windows 95 system. If you are experiencing this, we suggest you install the latest version of the DCOM95 for Windows 95. This file is available free of charge from Microsoft website at http://www.microsoft.com/com/resources/downloads.asp. After installing the DCOM95 file, you must run the MouseWare installation again.
